Yoh is a thirteen year old shaman who wants to become the Shaman King. He has a strong spirit guardian on his side, Amidamaru, who is just as goofy as he is, except when their fighting. His fiance, Anna, wants to become Shaman Queen, so she is going to marry Yoh when he becomes the Shaman King. When they were young, Anna saved Yoh from serious spirit trouble, and Yoh promised Anna that when he becomes Shaman King, she will be the Shaman Queen. His twin brother is Hao. Hao tries to kill Yoh, but he also wants to make him stronger for the tournament. Yoh is strong, but only when he's fighting or really wants to be.
